Network Providers

Saint Barnabas Employee Assistance Program (EAP) works with qualified professionals in behavioral health who can assist you with your issues. Network providers, or counselors, can meet with you to work on your concerns. Your EAP will match you with a provider based on your location and the type of problem you want to address. You can be assured that all providers will keep your information confidential. For more information about confidentiality click here.

Finding a Provider

Finding a provider is as easy as a phone call. To find a provider or counselor, that you can meet with privately, just call Saint Barnabas Employee Assistance Program first, at
1-800-300-0628. The clinician who answers the phone will walk you through a few easy steps to find the right provider for you.

You will be asked WHAT you wish to see the provider about. That way we can match you with someone with expertise in your area of concern.

You will be asked WHERE you would like to see the provider. You name the town, and we will do our best to match you with someone in that area. Our goal is to find you a provider within 20 minutes or 20 miles of home or work. Typically, your provider will be within 5 miles from your home or work.

Locating a Provider

Your Employee Assistance Program offers services throughout the United States and abroad. By calling your EAP, you will be matched with a provider in an office close to your home or work. For additional information and to be matched with a provider, please call your EAP first at 1-800-300-0628.

Provider Credentialing

All providers are credentialed with a license (or certification) by their state. Most of our providers are licensed social workers. We evaluate providers carefully, to ensure they meet our high standards for education, training, experience, licensure, and skill.

To contact your EAP and be matched with a provider, simply call 1-800-300-0628. A clinician will answer the phone and speak with you 24 hours each day, 7 days each week. This clinician will help match you with a provider who has expertise in your area of concern.

How to Become a Provider

To become a provider with the Saint Barnabas Employee Assistance Program (SB EAP), you will need to complete our application and provide us with the specified documentation. Interested? Provider Requirements

Saint Barnabas Employee Assistance Program maintains NCQA Standards for our national network of EAP providers. Providers are credentialed based on:

• professional requirements
• expertise
• geographic location

Providers are required to maintain the following to be eligible for our network:

Social Workers

• Masters degree in social work, accredited by the Council on Social Work
• Valid, current, unencumbered, highest level of licensure for the independent practice of social work as determined by State Board granting licensure/certification of states(s) where the applicant is providing care. (In the state of New York, an "R-licensure" is required.)
• Three (3) years of post-licensure, full-time clinical experience in behavioral health care.
• Professional liability insurance coverage
• Written verification that there are no adverse actions in front of state regulatory agencies

Psychologists

• Doctoral degree in psychology (PhD, EdD, PsyD) that is accredited by the American Physchological Association (APA), or is approved by the Council for the National Register of Health Providers in Psychology
• Valid, current, unencumbered, highest level of licensure for the independent practice of social work as determined by State Board granting licensure/certification of states(s) where the applicant is providing care.
• Three (3) years of post-licensure, full-time clinical experience in behavioral health care.
• Professional liability insurance coverage
• Written verification that there are no adverse actions in front of state regulatory agencies
